My name is Arianna Boyd. I was born and raised in Durham, NC. After attending Jordan High School for part of my high school career, I graduated from Durham Academy in 2017 and decided to continue my education at Howard University as a Chemistry major & Spanish minor on a full academic scholarship. I will be graduating in the spring of 2021 with a Bachelor of Science.
Throughout my life, I've enjoyed working with the youth and serving my community through organizations such as Durham H.A.W.K.S., the Emily K Center, Bambino's Playschool, and Breaking the Cycle. All of these organizations focus on empowering and serving youth in underserved communities in both Durham, NC and Washington, D.C. I believe that everyone should have access to a quality education and educational resources. In these organizations, I serve as a tutor, mentor, advocate, and community organizer. Through these roles, I strive to provide the students I work with with resources that they otherwise would not have access to.
I am excited to join the #DurhamNative Team because of the Anjali's education platform, which aligns with my passion for education and teaching. Furthermore, I am extremely passionate about getting more Black women and Durham natives in leadership positions within our local government. For these reasons, I'm looking forward to continue supporting our community through my work with the #DurhamNative team!
